Hanover Park man faces child sex charges

A Hanover Park man has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, according to Kane County court documents.

William Dugar, 20, of the 700 block of Weymouth Circle, appeared before Associate Judge James Hallock Thursday. He was being held Friday on $100,000 bail at the Kane County jail.

Predatory criminal sexual assault is a Class X felony, punishable by six to 30 years in prison if convicted.

Dugar is also charged with five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony punishable by three to seven years in prison.

Hallock ordered that if Dugar is released on bond he have no contact with the child in question, and that he stay at least 150 feet from an address on South Belmont Avenue in Elgin.

A Kane County grand jury indictment charges that on or about March 12, 2008 through Feb. 14, 2010, Dugar committed lewd sex acts on the child, who was younger than 13.

Dugar had no previous criminal history in Kane County. He works as a dietary aide at a nursing home, according to the public defender's office.

Dugar's next court date is at 9 a.m. Jan. 7 in front of Judge T. Jordan Gallagher.

The case was investigated by the Kane County Child Advocacy Center.
