Iowa man pleads guilty in prostitution case

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A Dubuque man faces prison after pleading guilty in a federal prostitution case.

The U.S. attorney’s office says 35-year-old Marvin Reyes pleaded guilty to one count of transportation of a person for prostitution on Thursday in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids.

Reyes admitted between October 2008 and April 2009 that he transported a woman from Iowa to Galena, Ill., for the purpose of engaging in acts of prostitution. He also admitted he arranged for women to meet men in Darlington, Wis., and Galena., to have sex for money.

Reyes faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. A sentencing date will be set after a presentence report in prepared.
