Holy Angels School celebrating 100th anniversary

Aurora’s Holy Angels School will celebrate its 100th anniversary school year with a Celestial Centennial Celebration March 23-25 at the school.

The celebration begins with an open house from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 23 and concludes with a dedication Mass and reception at 11 a.m. March 25 at the school, 720 Kensington Place.

The highlight of the weekend is expected to be the sixth annual Seraphim Ball March 24 at Gaslite Manor Banquets in Aurora. The event will feature dinner, dancing, cash raffles, live and silent auctions, and an all-night premium bar.

The ball will provide parents and alumni alike the opportunity to visit with other school and parish members, including academic, spiritual and business leaders in the area.

“The Seraphim Ball is a great way for the community to come together to celebrate and support a school that’s been committed to the spiritual formation and education of children in the Fox Valley area for the last 10 decades,” Principal Tonya Forbes said.

“Proceeds from the benefit will play an integral role in the continued spiritual and academic growth of our students and will enable us to maintain our long-held reputation for excellence.”

Holy Angels also is sponsoring a Celestial Centennial raffle for a $3,000 tuition credit. Gold commemorative anniversary plaques, which can be personalized, are available for purchase and will be displayed in the school lobby.

Personal and professional donations are also being accepted for live and silent auctions throughout the evening. Travel packages, event tickets, specialty items and luxury goods are among the various donations to be featured.

Tickets for the ball are $100. The silent auction begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Semiformal or formal attire is encouraged.
