Police: 71-year-old stabbed in Chicago home

Police say a Chicago man has allegedly confessed to stabbing his 71-year-old father inside his home on the city’s Far South Side.

Officers arrived at the home around 10 p.m. Sunday and found Nikolaus Douzopoulos in the basement. Police say he suffered stab wounds to the chest and arms.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office pronounced him dead on the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Police say the stabbing happened during an argument. Douzopoulos’ son then allegedly called a 911 dispatcher and confessed.

Charges are pending.
