Relay For Life an inspiring event

As co-chair of the 2012 Relay For Life of Mt. Prospect/Prospect Heights, I would like to thank everyone who helped make our recent event a smashing success.

With 57 teams walking laps around the Prospect High School track for 12 hours, we raised more than $82,000 for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. Highlights of the evening included remarks by Mayors Irvana Wilks and Nick Helmer, speeches by cancer survivors Haley Helstrom and Jay Kyp-Johnson, the survivor laps and Luminaria ceremony, and the many activities and on-site fundraisers.

A huge thanks goes out to everyone who helped organize and participate in the event. It was truly a memorable experience.

David Jacobson, co-chairman
