Olympic gold medalist visiting Hoffman Estates

USA Shooting Team member and five-time Olympic medalist Kim Rhode will visit Cabela’s, 5225 Prairie Stone Parkway in Hoffman Estates, on Saturday, Sept. 15. Rhode will be at the store from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to discuss her career as a double trap and skeet shooter and sign autographs and take pictures.

Rhode is the only American athlete to win medals in individual events in five straight Olympic Games, including gold in women’s skeet at the 2012 games in London. She earned gold in double trap at the 1996 and 2004 Olympics, and also is a six-time national champion. Her appearance at the Cabela’s coincides with the store’s National Rifle Association weekend, which gives customers a chance to earn Cabela’s gift cards and merchandise by signing up for an NRA membership, among other special offers.
