The Blissters, a powerpop quartet from Chicago, IL, are the winners of the 2007 Starbucks Avant Grande Music Competition. Their music has been featured on radio programs across the country and around the world since 2004.
In 2007, The Blissters were profiled artists on the “Local Anesthetic Show” on WXRT FM, the largest rock-format station in Chicago. Their single, “Just Like You” was voted the number one 93XRT/Starbucks competition winner in the Midwest. They have been featured in the Chicagoist, the Chicago Tribune, the Austin American-Statesman, and the Huffington Post. Their drummer is the author of the bestselling satire, THE ZEN OF ZOMBIE.
The Blissters are a diverse and dynamic team of songwriters. They play upbeat pop/rock with melodic 3-part harmonies, and give high-energy live performances. They have released a full length album and two EP’s, recorded with Mike Hagler of Kingsize Soundlabs (engineer/studio for Wilco, Billy Bragg, The New Pornographers and others). They are currently at work recording new tracks for an upcoming album. The Blissters have performed live at major venues including the Double Door, the Subterranean, The Abbey, and The Elbo Room. They have toured cities outside Chicago, including Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. They are managed by Campobasso Entertainment.
