McHenry County has openings on zoning board

The McHenry County Board is seeking applicants for two zoning board of appeals members and two alternate members.

The zoning board conducts public hearings and makes recommendations to the county board regarding property owner requests to rezone properties, obtain conditional use permits, and receive variations from the zoning provisions of the county development ordinance.

Meetings are 1:30 p.m. Thursdays, and members have the option to participate remotely. A per diem of $110 is paid for each meeting day.

Applicants must live in Algonquin, Chemung, Hebron, Burton, Hartland, Marengo, Riley, Seneca, Coral, Grafton, Greenwood or Dorr townships.

Applicants must fill out the county application form and a supplemental zoning board application. Forms can be found at www.mchenrycountyil.gov and at the County Administration Office, 667 Ware Road, Room 209, Woodstock.

Applications can be sent by certified or registered mail to McHenry County Board, 2200 North Seminary Avenue, Woodstock, IL 60098.
