Anderson ready to come off IL, rejoin White Sox

After missing eight games with a hamstring strain, shortstop Tim Anderson is ready to come off the 10-day injured list and get back in the lineup Thursday afternoon against the Indians.

Anderson was at the Sox's training site in Schaumburg Wednesday for a final tuneup.

"I got a text from (Class AAA Charlotte manager) Wes (Helms) about his work and everything was outstanding, check marked to the box," White Sox manager Tony La Russa said. "He says he moved great, took a bunch of ground balls, threw the ball, no problems fielding, took a bunch of batting practice and then took 5 at-bats, ran the bases. He said he looks great and ready to go. He'll be in the starting lineup tomorrow and we will welcome him back with open arms."
