Three returned to Prospect Heights Dist. 23 board

Voters returned three sitting members of the Prospect Heights Elementary District 23 board to their posts.
With all of the precincts reporting Tuesday night, unofficial tallies showed that the three, 4-year terms will go to: eight-year veteran Judith Zimmermann of Arlington Heights, with 1,837 votes; board member Martha Olsen of Arlington Heights, with 1,830; and Randall DeCoursey with 1,408 votes.
Leonard Walker of Wheeling had 1,184 votes.
The board will face a new round of teacher contract negotiations and the challenges of an increasingly diverse population, in the days ahead.
