Three return to Arlington Hts. Park District board
Voters returned three incumbents to the Arlington Heights Park District Board. Robert Whisler, Maryfran Healy Leno and Robert Smith were the top vote-getters Tuesday night with 77 of 78 precincts tallied, unofficial results show.
Whisler had 6,453 votes, Leno had 5,979 votes and Smith had 5,819 votes. Challenger Donald Miletic, the Des Plaines parks finance superintendent, had 3,529 votes.
Leno is the Itasca Park District executive director. Faced with aging community centers at four parks, Leno and Whisler favor renovating a building every five to seven years. Smith favors asking voters in a referendum.
