A handful of additional candidates applied Tuesday to get on the Cook County ballot in the February primary.

They include Richard Dalka, a Des Plaines resident who filed as a Green Party candidate to run against Republican Commissioner Liz Gorman in the 17th District, which runs along the county's western edge, and George Milkowski of Chicago filed for the Green primary in the 13th District commissioner's race against incumbent Democrat Larry Suffredin of Evanston.

Cook County Republican Party Chairman Lee Roupas of Palos Park filed to remain Palos Township committeeman, and Michael Corrigan of LaGrange Park filed for Republican committeeman in Proviso Township.

Candidates have until Nov. 2 to file to have their names placed on the primary ballots.
