Two days after he helped the Cincinnati Bengals defeat the Bears, defensive lineman Tank Johnson was in Chicago testifying in the trial of a man accused of shooting to death his best friend.
Johnson's testimony Tuesday came during the murder trial of 36-year-old Michael Selvie, who is accused in the December 2006 shooting of Willie Posey.
The former Chicago Bear testified Selvie and Posey fought after Selvie bumped Johnson several times while he was dancing with a woman. Johnson said the fight continued after he and club security attempted to break it up.
Johnson testified he heard a gunshot and dove behind a couch, where he waited several moments before running to his friend, who was lying on the floor.
Johnson was released from the Bears in June 2007 after several run-ins with the law.
