CROWN POINT, Ind. -- Two teenagers charged with robbing a northwestern Indiana couple whose bodies were later found in an Illinois forest preserve have been ordered held on $250,000 bond.

No murder charges have been filed against 17-year-old Reo Thompson and 18-year-old Gregory Brooks Jr. The two Hammond residents appeared in a Lake County court Wednesday on charges of auto theft, robbery, burglary and confinement and a magistrate entered not guilty pleas for them.

Court records say Brooks told investigators that he, Thompson and a third man robbed 78-year-old Milton McClendon and 76-year-old Ruby McClendon of Hammond, the parents of Chicago CLTV television host Garrard McClendon, stole their car and later returned to "finish them."

The McClendons were found dead of gunshot wounds to the head Oct. 19 in a Cook County forest preserve.
