Elgin
• Tyrone A. Hammond, 17, of the 100 block of College Street, Elgin, was arrested at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday on accusations he brought a pocket knife to school. Hammond is charged with with felony unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor possession of a weapon, police said. The charges allege he brought a knife with a 3 1/4-inch blade to Central School, 355 E. Chicago St., Elgin. Central is an alternative school operated by Elgin Area School District U-46. No one was injured and there was not an altercation with another student, police said. Hammond's bond was set at $15,000 and he is due in court on Nov. 10. He faces probation or up to three years in prison if convicted of the felony.
• Someone punctured the front tire on a 2001 Audi A6 in the 1000 block of Washburn Street and scratched it with a key between 10 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, reports said.
• A woman's purse was reported stolen during a house party in the 700 block of Elma Avenue about 5 a.m. Tuesday, report said.
• Someone broke through a basement window of an apartment in the 1100 block of Peach Tree Lane between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and stole a DVD player, flat-screen television and computer monitor, reports said.
• Maria Lopez, 26, of the 2100 block of North Western Avenue, Chicago, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, reports said. Police became suspicious when they saw Lopez and another person sitting in a car in the 600 block of Littleton Trail and smelled marijuana smoke coming from the vehicle, reports said. She is due in court on Nov. 18.
Huntley
• Sean T. Haslett, 20, of the 900 block of Scott Street in Algonquin, was arrested Saturday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. He also was cited for failure to signal, improper signal, no insurance, and illegal transportation of alcohol, according to reports. Haslett was released after posting bond. His next court date is Dec. 4.
• Natalie N. Wadlington, 18, of the 24000 block of Kelsey Road in Barrington, was arrested Friday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and underage consumption of alcohol, police said. Wadlington's next court date is Nov. 20.
• A window was smashed out of a vehicle Oct. 21 on the 11100 block of Douglas Avenue, police said.
• Electronics, a driver's license and a debit card were stolen from a residence Oct. 22 on the 9600 block of Sheldon Road, police said.
• An iPod Touch, a backpack and a cell phone were stolen between Monday, Oct. 19 and Wednesday, Oct. 21 from lockers at Huntley High School, police said.
