CROWN POINT, Ind. -- Two teenagers have been charged with killing a northwestern Indiana couple whose bodies were later found in an Illinois forest preserve.

Lake County prosecutors on Thursday charged 17-year-old Reo Thompson and 18-year-old Gregory Brooks Jr. with murder in the perpetration of a burglary and murder in the perpetration of a robbery. They were already jailed on charges of auto theft, robbery, burglary and confinement.

Police say 78-year-old Milton McClendon and 76-year-old Ruby McClendon of Hammond, the parents of Chicago CLTV television host Garrard McClendon, were found dead of gunshot wounds to the head Oct. 19 in a Cook County forest preserve.

The county public defenders office says defense attorneys for the teens can't comment because the judge has issued a gag order in the case.
