I enjoyed Steve Aldrich's Oct. 22 post "Unhappy with Comcast upgrade" so much I thought I was writing it. I, too, went through the Comcast merry-go-round.
After receiving my first upgrade box I discovered it was the wrong one. I also received the news that to continue receiving the channels I wanted I would have to pay more.
After going through two days of them trying to connect me, I got a better idea. I called AT&T, and within a week had U-verse installed. Better picture, faster Internet (regardless of what Comcast claims), cheaper package deal, and, get ready for this: friendly and knowledgeable customer support.
Now this brings up another point. To those people who live in towns like Naperville, which fought AT&T to prevent them from installing the "unsightly" U-verse switching boxes, it's the price you pay for choice and technology. Stifling technology and choice only leads to misery and regrets later. To whoever is responsible in Milton Township, thank you for allowing me to have a choice. And thanks, AT&T, for sending me the U-verse junk mail once or twice a week. You convinced me.
