Congressman Danny Davis has officially filed paperwork for two positions in the February primary election, saying he's still unsure which race he'll pursue.

The Chicago Democrat submitted his petition for re-election to his 7th congressional district post on Monday. Last week, he submitted a petition for Cook County board president.

Davis has until next Monday to drop out of one of the races.

He's said he can't make a decision until he knows which other candidates are running.

Davis hasn't returned messages left seeking comment Monday.

Davis was first elected to Congress in 1996. The 7th district includes downtown Chicago and some western suburbs.
