Three radio stations to carry Loyola basketball

All Loyola University men's basketball games during the upcoming 2009-10 season will be broadcast live on a trio of stations, Loyola Athletics Director Dr. John Planek announced Thursday.

Ramblers' basketball with head coach Jim Whitesell can be heard on WNTD (950 AM), WAUR (930 AM) and WLUW (88.7 FM) this winter.

"We are excited to partner with Relevant Radio and once again with our campus station, WLUW," Planek said. "We feel these stations give us a great reach to fans throughout the Chicago area."

All Loyola games will also be streamed live on the Internet atrelevantradio.com.

John Fitzgerald returns to provide radio play-by-play for the third straight season, while former Loyola University assistant coach John Tracy will handle the color analyst duties.

Loyola, which earned a a 92-62 exhibition win over Robert Morris College Monday, opens its regular season at Manhattan, Kan., on Nov. 13 for a game against Kansas State. The Ramblers open at home on Nov. 17 against Canisius.
