I just received my second installment property tax bill and it was up almost 10 percent over last year. The surprise was that the increase in the Cook County taxes portion was up only 2 percent while my school tax portion for Harper, Dist. 54 and Dist. 211 was up over 10 percent.

So does than mean Cook County, which gets so much bad press about its mismanagement and abuse of the taxpayers, is doing that much better that Dist. 54, Dist. 211, and Dist. 512 in managing its tax money?
