Additions to several forest preserves, a land exchange and community bike path connection were among items approved Thursday by two Lake County Forest Preserve District committees.
The approvals include a 16.5 acre addition to the Grassy Lake Forest Preserve in Cuba Township for nearly $1.2 million. and a 10.5 acre addition of the Worozaken property to Grant Woods Forest Preserve for $535,000.
Property also was added to the Fox River Preserve and Marina and a land swap with Fremont School District 79 will allow for the expansion of the Ray Lake Forest Preserve.
An agreement with Lake County will allow for the construction of a segment of the Deerfield Road bike path to connect with the Des Plaines River Trail.
The moves are contingent on approval by the full forest preserve board Nov. 10.
