Become a performer in the parks with Street Theatre

What could be better than spending summer evenings outdoors bringing laughs to the community?

Actors ages 16 to 25 are invited to join Street Theatre, a paid, summer traveling drama company.

Auditions will be held noon to 3 p.m., May 5 and 6 at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Plays are held at District parks and other locations throughout Schaumburg, including Town Square.

"Young actors will gain experience in front of live audiences," said Beth Waller, cultural arts supervisor. "Sometimes the audience participates which makes it even more exciting."

Performances run June through July with rehearsals beginning in May. This year's free, family-friendly performances include The Clown Prince, Daze of Olde and Mother Goosed.

Those interested in auditioning should contact Beth Waller at bewaller@parkfun.com. List the date you want to audition.
