Blackhawks activate Campbell, put Bolland on IR

The Chicago Blackhawks have activated defenseman Brian Campbell from the Injured Reserve list and placed forward Dave Bolland on Injured Reserve.

Campbell, 31, registered one assist in four preseason tilts with the Blackhawks this year and has yet to appear during the 2010-11 regular-season. The Strathroy, Ontario, native ranked second among team defensemen in goals (7), assists (31) and points (38) in 68 regular-season contests in 2009-10, and added five points (G, 4A) in 19 postseason contests while helping Chicago to the 2010 Stanley Cup Championship.

Originally signed as a free agent on July 1, 2008, Campbell has registered 90 points (14G, 76A) and a +23 plus/minus rating in 150 regular-season games over the last two seasons with the Blackhawks.

Bolland, 24, has posted three points (G, 2A) and a +1 plus/minus rating in 12 regular-season tilts this season. Chicago's second choice, 32nd overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Bolland has appeared in 172 regular-season games over parts of the last five seasons with the Blackhawks, recording 83 points (30G, 53A) and 114 penalty minutes.
