I want to strongly commend Rep. Bill Foster for casting a courageous vote in favor of health care reform. After all, he took Denny Hastert's place in a traditionally Republican district, and he may pay a price from some Republicans and independents in 2010 for this kind of vote.

It is with deep regret that despite the majority of Americans being against the health reform bill. Yes, we need health care reform, but that monstrous, costly, cumbersome bill that was passed is the epitome of the House snubbing their noses at the American taxpayer.

I feel the constant reference to a government takeover is ironic, because it is being made by people who are part of government. This catchphrase is particularly offensive since it is being made by those either holding elective offices or desperately running to get one.

This administration is clearly ignoring the wishes of the majority of the people! They were elected to represent our wishes, not promote their own agenda! It's time to listen up, or you will find yourselves out of a job in the coming elections!

I am grateful that after nearly a century a bipartisan majority of the House of Representatives made history by passing the health reform bill. It is very disappointing that Rep. Don Manzullo opposed the bill.

Almost daily, there is a news item about some group of business leaders, politicians owners or rulers of some industry, bankers and others, giving up their bonuses, raises, stipends whatever because of the state of our economy.

Today I took my son to the doctor for his regular checkup. We'd recently changed from a bloated, expensive insurance policy to something more in line with what insurance is supposed to be ... for finance-crushing emergencies.

My letter is very simple. I have been in health care since 1985. My husband is a physician. Over these many years, we have watched what happens to the people, in our case children, who have good resources, and those who do not.
