Pot on Bloomingdale doorstep leads to stalking charges

A Park Ridge man left packages of marijuana on a Bloomingdale doorstep believing it would please a woman he’s been stalking for years, police said Tuesday.

Adam Timm, 35, of the 1100 block of Tyrell Avenue, was charged Monday with stalking, disorderly conduct and marijuana possession.

Bloomingdale Police Cmdr. Tim Roberts said Timm twice left small amounts of marijuana on a doorstep that was associated with a 33-year-old acquaintance he’s been stalking periodically since the late 1990s.

A woman who knew the victim found the most recent package earlier this month, along with a “disturbing letter,” according to the charges.

Roberts said Timm “thought the victim was interested in having some (marijuana) — and she wasn’t.”

The package turned up within days of Timm’s arrest at a Park Ridge gas station, where he was accused of possessing a 9 mm Beretta handgun. Authorities said Timm later tried to get behind the wheel of a squad car while he was being moved between two vehicles.

Roberts said a warrant has been issued for Timm’s arrest but he remained on home confinement Tuesday in connection with the Cook County case.
