Zoo to answer groundhog questions

For those whose understanding and knowledge about groundhogs begins and ends with the groundhog that makes an appearance once a year in Punxsutawney, Pa., Lincoln Park Zoo has good news.

On Thursday, the same day that Punxsutawney Phil comes in search of his shadow, experts at the zoo will respond to questions related to the groundhog on the zoo’s Twitter feed and Facebook page.

They can talk about their research into the lives of groundhogs — research that includes the use of radio tracking devices.

And of course, they’re prepared to talk about how there’s no evidence that Phil or any other groundhog has, no matter whether they see or don’t see their shadow, the ability to predict the weather.
