DuPage deputies search for missing woman

The DuPage County sheriff’s office is asking for help in finding Burnessa Buchanan, 50, who left the area of Gary Avenue and Schick Road near Bloomingdale on Feb. 1.

After leaving the Bloomingdale area, Buchanan was last seen later that day at 8:30 p.m. near 86th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue in Chicago. She has family who lives in the area where she was last seen, but her family has not had any contact with her.

Sheriff’s officials said police have been investigating and trying to find Buchanan, but attempts have been unsuccessful.

Buchanan is a black woman who is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes and wears a wig. She was last seen wearing a dark zip-up jacket, brown boots with pom-poms on them and a fur, black-and-white leopard print hat. She was not wearing her wig when last seen.

Anyone who has seen Buchanan is asked to call sheriff’s deputies at (630) 407-2400.
