Romney makes Rosemont campaign stop

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney greeted supporters outside the Pancakes Eggcetera restaurant in Rosemont early Friday. The former Massachusetts governor told the crowd that it is a critical time for his primary campaign as he shook hands before heading inside.

Not everyone gathered outside was a supporter, however.

Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and about a dozen women were in Rosemont to protest, holding signs that read: “Keep your Mitt(s) off birth control.” The Democrat says a Romney presidency would be a disaster for the country and would set the women’s movement back.

The protesters are unhappy with Romney’s statement that he plans to “get rid of” Planned Parenthood if he’s elected to help balance the federal budget.
