Sentencing postponed for former Blagojevich chief of staff

A lawyer for a former aide to Rod Blagojevich says his client is disappointed his sentencing for helping his old boss try to sell President Barack Obama's vacated Senate seat has been postponed.

John Harris' sentencing had been set for Friday, a day after the former governor entered prison to begin a 14-year sentence.

Blagojevich's last chief of staff learned the judge put off sentencing to March 28 because of other court business after arriving at the Chicago courthouse. Attorney Terry Ekl says Harris is eager to get sentencing over with. Harris pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery in a 2010 agreement and faces a maximum five-year term.

Harris began cooperating after his 2008 arrest while Blagojevich fought his charges until his imprisonment. Harris' cooperation included testifying against Blagojevich.
