Blackhawks game day

St. Louis Blues at the United Center, 7:30 p.m.

TV: Comcast SportsNet

Radio: WGN 720-AM

What to watch: Defense and goaltending have certainly proved a winning mix for St. Louis this season, especially of late. Blues goalie Brian Elliott is on a roll. He recorded 24 saves for his third straight shutout in St. Louis’ 3-0 win over Nashville on Tuesday, ran his team-record scoreless streak to 186:33 and counting, and earned his league-leading ninth shutout. Elliott and Jaroslav Halak have combined for 15 shutouts. The Blues have given up a league-low 147 goals this season. St. Louis entered Wednesday with a league-leading 105 points, a pair ahead of the New York Rangers.

Season series: Hawks are 2-2-1 against the Blues.

Next: Nashville at Bridgestone Arena, 7 p.m. Saturday
