Bishop’s comments don’t represent me

Bishop Daniel Jenky does not speak for me. I am a lifelong Catholic and find his comments comparing our president’s health care policies to actions by Adolf Hitler vicious, unfounded and downright un-Christian. Is there no end to the lengths these appointed leaders of the Catholic Church will go, supposedly because they are miffed about the contraception issue?

I fully support the Anti-Defamation League’s call for Bishop Jenky to apologize and, even more, for his fellow bishops to distance themselves from his rhetoric entirely. I, for one, will be calling the White House to tell the president that this bishop does not speak for me. In fact, I firmly believe the R.C. hierarchy have totally lost any moral authority.
