Des Plaines man shot in Evanston

A Des Plaines man was shot in the knee Sunday night in Evanston, according to police.

The shooting was not a random act, according to police, and the 21-year-old victim knew the shooter. The suspect also shot a 20-year-old Evanston man in the back, police said.

The Des Plaines man was in good condition at Evanston Hospital as of Sunday night.

The Evanston man was listed in fair condition at Evanston Hospital.

Police responded to the double shooting about 7:15 p.m. in the area of Lyons Street and Dodge Avenue.

They found one victim on the 1800 block of Lyons Street and the second victim on the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue, police said.

As of Sunday night no one was in police custody.
