Lake Barrington 5K race on May 1

The village of Lake Barrington will hold its first 5K race and community walk Saturday, May 1. The Lake Barrington Spring Has Sprung Sprint will begin on the village's municipal grounds at 23860 N. Old Barrington Road by the main trailhead for the Grassy Lake Trail.

Other activities include kids' 50-yard and 100-yard dashes, scavenger hunts and a raffle. The entry fee is $5 per person or $10 per family, with proceeds going to the Cuba Township Food Pantry. Participants are also asked to bring a non-perishable food or gift card donation for the food pantry to receive an Arbor Day tree seedling.
