Mundelein's baseball team avenged an earlier-season loss, and did so convincingly.

Alex Ahonen homered and singled, and Eric Rohe improved to 12-0, as the Mustangs defeated visiting Evanston 10-0 on Thursday. Evanston had trounced Mundelein 17-4 in early April.

Colton Tortorello and Jack Walliser both went 2-for-3 with doubles for Mundelein (26-3). Walliser doubled twice. Dillon Smith also hit a double.

Rohe pitched 5 innings, striking out three and walking two.

Boys volleyball

Libertyville d. Carmel: J.J. Hill had 7 kills, as the Wildcats earned a 26-24, 25-23 nonconference win.

Libertyville (17-17) also received 6 kills from Matt Anderson and five from Chris Risley.

Nick Olson and Matt Bernard each lofted 13 assists.

It was the second straight loss for Carmel (24-11).
