Arlington Heights

• Burglars stole a golf bag and clubs out of the trunk of a 2007 Toyota Solara in a driveway on the 1600 block of South Kaspar Avenue between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 28 and 4 p.m. Oct. 29. Value was estimated at $2,290.

• Burglars broke into a 2006 Toyota Matrix and stole a purse containing $1,000 in a fitness center lot at 960 W. Dundee Road between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Nov. 1.

• Vandals put an unknown black substance on the cedar siding above the front door at a home on the 1700 block of North Chestnut Avenue between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 31 and 3 p.m. Nov. 1. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

• Thieves stole a boys' BMX bike valued at $100 from the first-floor porch at an apartment on the 1600 block of North Windsor Drive between 4 p.m. Oct. 31 and 4:31 p.m. Nov. 1.

• Vandals hurled a stainless steel ball through the front window at Panera Bread, 5 W. Rand Road, between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 29 and 5 a.m. Oct. 30.

• Vandals shot BB-gun pellets into the front picture window at a home in the 700 block of North Beverly Lane around 12:50 a.m. Nov. 1.

• Vandals broke the driver's-side mirror with a pumpkin on a 2008 Nissan Sentra on the 2600 block of North Chestnut Avenue between 6:30 and 10 p.m. Nov. 1. Damage was estimated at $500.

• Vandals smashed a driver's-side window on a 1998 Volkswagen Beetle in a driveway on the 600 block of North Hickory Avenue between midnight and 7 a.m. Nov. 1.

• Burglars broke into a 2009 Mazda SUV at Sunset Meadows Park, 700 S. Dwyer Ave., between 9:15 and 9:24 a.m. Nov. 1 during a football game and stole a cell phone and purse. Value was estimated at $220.

• Burglars stole a mobile cell phone, charger, and audio connector out of an unlocked 2009 Honda Odyssey in a driveway on the 2300 block of North Lafayette Street between 10 p.m. Oct. 28 and 7 a.m. Oct. 29. Value was estimated at $540.

Buffalo Grove

• Vandals smashed approximately 50 pumpkins worth $200 overnight Oct. 30 at Kingswood United Methodist Church, 401 Dundee Road.

• An officer on patrol about 9:45 p.m. Oct. 31 spotted gang-related graffiti on several areas of Kilmer School, 655 Golfview Terrace.

• Vandals put a portable toilet in the roadway about 11 p.m. Oct. 31 at Franklin and Fairfax lanes. A number of traffic sign were uprooted and removed them from the roadway.

• Five youths who smelled of smoke admitted setting a fire about 4 p.m. Nov. 1 on the playground at Pritchett School, 200 Horatio Blvd. Parents were notified and they will be referred to the Fire Starter's Education Class.

• Someone smashed the driver's-side window to a vehicle overnight Oct. 29 in the 700 block of Trace Drive and removed the navigation system. That same night, someone smashed the passenger-side window to a vehicle in the 1100 block of Windbrooke Drive and the driver's-side window on another vehicle in the same block, removing the navigation systems from both vehicles.

• A tire on a vehicle was punctured Oct. 29, then after the complainant drove home to the 800 block of Westbourne Lane, another tire was punctured.

• Someone entered an unlocked vehicle overnight Oct. 26 in the 900 block of Indian Spring Lane and removed the navigation system and the radio faceplate.

• Someone entered an apartment in the 700 block of Grove Drive the morning of Oct. 30 and took electronic equipment from a bedroom.

• Burglars took clothes from the bedroom and $430 in cash from the nightstand drawer an apartment on Thorn Apple Court the evening of Oct. 31. When the resident returned home, he found the door ajar and a window shattered when he returned home.

• A vehicle drove through a newly seeded area at Twin Groves Park, 1072 Ivy Hall Lane, between Oct. 29 and Nov. 2, causing damage estimated at $300.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle Occurred between 11 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. on 11/2 913 Commerce Court - Veritas Document Solutions Employee stated that when he returned to his car, he found

• Vandals smashed the windows, damaged the outside mirror and spray-painted in black the hood of a vehicle at a business in the 900 block of Commerce Court during the day Nov. 2. A security camera showed a teal-colored vehicle pull next to the victim's vehicle and showed two subjects causing the damage.

• Police are investigating suspects in a theft where someone went into a personal bag at a party in the 1100 block of Old Barn Road and removed a digital camera, cell phone and a friend's digital camera between Oct. 31 and Nov. 2.

• A vandal scratched the words "thank you" into the paint of the rear driver's-side door to a vehicle in the 0-100 block of Old Oak Drive the afternoon of Nov. 2. Elk Grove Village

• Chelsea M. Sparks, 21, of Las Vegas, and Nina R. Mergerson, 32, of the 2400 block of Landmeier Road, Elk Grove Village, were arrested Oct. 23 as part of a multiple department prostitution sting aimed at people posting ads on a Web site offering services in exchange for cash, Sgt. Mike Gaspari said. Sparks was arrested at 121 Northwest Point Blvd. about 4 p.m. and charged with prostitution. Her court date is Dec. 10. Mergerson was arrested about 6:20 p.m. in the 2400 block of Landmeier Road and charged with prostitution. Her court date is Nov. 17.

Wheeling

• Vandals flattened two tires on a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am and two tires on a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer in a driveway on the 200 block of Highland Avenue between 1:30 and 8 a.m. Oct. 23. Damage was estimated at $630.
