The Dolphin Swim Club is preparing to open a state-fo-the-art swimming facility in Crystal Lake with two warm-water indoor pools on Monday, Nov. 16.

The 8,880-square-foot facility, which offers swim lessons, water aerobics, a swim team and birthday parties, will operate at 825 Munshaw Road.

For nearly four years, the business has temporarily operated inside the Holiday Inn in Crystal Lake.

Other remote locations are found in hotels in Hoffman Estates, Morton Grove and South Beloit, Wis., said Peggy Palter Lim, a swim instructor for the business.

Dolphin Swim Club made its debut in 1992 in Rockford and built its first facility in nearby Loves Park in 1997. Nine years later, Dolphin expanded into the suburbs with a school in Crystal Lake.

Owner Tyler Brewer began the business nearly two decades ago focusing on drowning prevention and teaching children the lifelong skill of swimming. Brewer is the president of the United States Swim School Association and sits on the board of directors for the Swim for Life foundation. For more check out dolphinswimclub.com.
