• Three teens were seen using black paint to spray graffiti on exterior walls at four businesses at 5 and 9 E. Campbell St. and 9 and 17 S. Dunton Ave. around 6:35 p.m. Nov. 3.
• Vandals scratched the entire passenger's-side of a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt in a store lot at 1860 S. Arlington Heights Road, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Nov. 3. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
• Burglars broke into a 2007 Ford pickup truck belonging to A&C Electric, 704 W. Algonquin Road, between 3:05 and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 2 and stole a 3-phase power quality analyzer in a soft black case. Value was estimated at $3,500.
• Vandals broke the lens cover on a light fixture and drove over the wet grass and volleyball court at Heritage Park, 506 W. Victoria Lane, between noon Nov. 1 and 7 a.m. Nov. 3, doing $500 damage.
• Burglars broke into a 2000 Jeep Cherokee in a restaurant lot at 2121 S. Arlington Heights Road, between 11 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. Nov. 2 and stole a GPS valued at $190 and a black leather wallet.
• Burglars stole the in-dash stereo, cell phone, and an iPod and charger out of an unlocked 1996 Geo Prizm in a store lot at 530 S. Arthur Ave. between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Nov. 2. Value was estimated at $230.
• Burglars broke into a 2009 Honda Civic in an apartment lot on the 4200 block of North Bloomington Avenue between 3 p.m. Nov. 3 and 6 a.m. Nov. 4 and stole a GPS valued at $450.
Des Plaines
• Natalie S. Ledesma, 22, of the 0-100 block of Roberta Court, Buffalo Grove, was arrested around 5:40 p.m. Nov. 4 in a hotel at 22 W. Algonquin Road and charged with prostitution. Reports said an undercover officer answered her ad on a Web site. Her court date is Nov. 19.
• Vandals punctured 52 tires on three box trucks, four pickup trucks, seven cargo vans, and four trailers and two tires on a customer's 2002 Ford Explorer at U-Haul, 1560 S. Mount Prospect Road, between 8 p.m. Oct. 30 and 6 a.m. Oct. 31. Damage was estimated at $7,060.
• Vandals slashed 10 tires on six vehicles at St. Mary's, a PADS site, 795 Center St., between 6 and 9 p.m. Oct. 30. Damage was estimated at $1,400.
• Burglars kicked open the front door at a home on the 100 block of King Lane between 7:30 a.m. Oct. 29 and 4 p.m. Oct. 30 and stole two laptop computers, an iPod, and watch. Value was estimated at $8,000.
• Thieves stole a boxed LCD TV valued at $1,200 from a freight dock at ATC Trucking, 351 W. Touhy Ave., between 11:45 p.m. Oct. 26 and 1:30 a.m. Oct. 27.
• Burglars broke into a 1999 Chevrolet work van in a business lot at 100 Oakton St., between 12:30 and 3:20 p.m. Nov. 2 and stole tools valued at $1,750.
• Thieves stole a laptop valued at $1,200 out of an employees' locker room at Alden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 1221 E. Golf Road, between 3:30 and 7:10 p.m. Oct. 30.
• Burglars stole two video-game systems, jewelry, video camera, and bag of change out of a home on the 1700 block of Elm Street between 7:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. Oct. 30. Value was estimated at $1,000.
• Vandals smashed the windows on three Chevrolet vehicles at a home on the 1800 block of Pine Street between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Oct. 31. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
• Vandals damaged a shed and concession stand in a park at 1301 Kolpin Drive between Oct. 27 and 31. Damage was estimated at $500.
• Burglars stole an iPod and loose change out of an unlocked 2005 Buick SUV on the 400 block of Cordial Drive between 6 p.m. Nov. 2 and 6 a.m. Nov. 3. Value was estimated at $105.
• Vandals shattered the rear passenger's-side window and chipped the glass on a driver's-side window on a 2004 Toyota Camry on the 500 block of Nelson Lane between 5 p.m. Nov. 2 and noon Nov. 3. Vandals also smashed the rear driver's-side window on a 2005 Nissan Xterra on the 600 block of Nelson Lane between 6 p.m. Nov. 2 and 5 a.m. Nov. 3. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $550.
• Vandals twisted the antenna on a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis in an alley behind United Methodist Church, 668 Graceland Ave., between 5:55 and 6:45 p.m. Nov. 2.
• Tomas Berrum, 18, of the 2000 block of Pine Street, Des Plaines, was arrested around 7:45 p.m. Nov. 2 in an apartment building laundry room on the 2000 block of Ash Street and charged with local ordinance possession of marijuana. His court date is Nov. 24.
Elk Grove Village
• There were multiple reports of vandals throwing pumpkins through windows just before and after midnight Halloween Eve. Pumpkins were thrown through the front window of a home in the 500 block of Gateshead South, doing $300 damage; the front window of a home in the 300 block of Wellington Avenue, doing $1,000 damage; the front picture window of a home in the 1000 block of Leicester Road, doing $1,000 damage; the front window of a home in the 1200 block of Leeds Lane, doing $300 damage; the windshield of a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt on Ridgewood Road, doing $350 damage; and against the right-rear door of a 2006 Chevrolet Impala in the 200 block of Greenbriar Street, doing $400 in dent damage.
• Thieves took 10 steel crates worth $1,000 from the parking lot of Hausner Hard Chrome, 670 Greenleaf, Oct. 28-29.
• Thieves took 12 full propane tanks worth $6,000 from an unlocked area at the rear of Diemasters Manufacturing Inc., 2100 Touhy Ave., between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Oct. 30.
• Denise M. Burton, 49, of the 7500 block of N. Elmhurst Road in Des Plaines, was arrested about 8 a.m. Oct. 28 at 901 Wellington Ave. and charged with theft. Her court date is Nov. 17.
• John Perry, 21, of the 400 block of West Touhy Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested about 3 a.m. Oct. 31 at 1601 Oakton St. and charged with possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His court date is Nov. 19.
• Thieves broke out the front passenger window of a 2003 Ford Explorer Nov. 2 in the 200 block of Tower Lane and took the GPS unit for loss and damage of $400.
Mount Prospect
• A former employee of American Taxi, 834 E. Rand Road, is suspected of accessing the company's software and sending drivers for Yellow Metro Taxi to customers who placed orders with American Taxi between Sept. 1 and Oct. 28. An investigation continues.
• A chase ensued after a man stole drill bits valued at $106 from Menards, 740 E. Rand Road, around 1:30 p.m. Oct. 29. A security agent chased him across Rand Road and tackled him on St. Louis Street in front of a hair salon. The thief slipped out of his sweatshirt and sweater and ran south on Rand Road, while the agent collected the drill bits. The thief was described as a male Hispanic, 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 200 pounds, medium complexion, wearing a black T-shirt, black pants and black shoes.
• Two men entered a home on the 2000 block of Lincoln Street through an open rear door around 1:30 p.m. Oct. 29. The female resident was asleep in a bedroom and woke to find one of the men standing in the doorway. She ordered him to leave and chased both men out the rear door. Her husband was raking leaves in he front yard and did not see them.
• A vandal drove over the grass at High Line Park, 178 W. Algonquin Road, before 3:10 a.m. Oct. 29. Damage was estimated at $50.
