Fruit Crisp
8 apples, sliced or cubed
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup matzo flour or potato starch
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground clove
1/2 stick margarine, melted
Topping
6-8 matzo breads, crumbled
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1 stick margarine, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, toss the apples with sugar, matzo flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. Transfer to a 9-by-13-inch baking pan. Drizzle melted margarine over the fruit. Set aside.
For the topping: In another bowl, toss matzo, sugar, cinnamon and margarine. Spread evenly over fruit.
Bake for about 40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling. Serve warm or hot with whipped topping, if desired.
Serves eight to 10.
