Naked lads by candlelight

David Zak likes to defy convention. He put a bunch of naked guys onstage singing songs in the show "Barenaked Lads" at Bailiwick Theater in Chicago.

And when the power went out Friday, director Zak put the adage "the show must go on" into practice. He decided to stage "Lads" by candlelight in the theater's lobby. In an e-mail, he urged patrons to bring a flashlight.

He also announced that "Lazy Susan," a 10 p.m. improv show at the theater, would be performed in a parking lot across the street.
