'High School Musical 2' to have lots of DVD extras
Will Disney score the best DVD sales of the year?
Bet on it.
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment announced Monday that a new extended DVD edition of "High School Musical 2," the most-watched basic cable program in history, will hit stores Dec. 11. The disc will also be available in Blu-ray format.
The new version of the TV movie includes a new musical number performed by stars Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale. Extras include bloopers and a feature allowing viewers to watch rehearsal footage from each dance number as the film plays.
Monday also brought new details on the third movie in the series. TVGuide.com learned the forthcoming theatrical release will no longer be called "Haunted High School Musical," and will instead be set back at school as Troy, Gabriella and Sharpay try to survive senior year. "High School Musical 3" is expected in theaters next fall.
