Briefs: Sara Lee names Gupta treasurer

DOWNERS GROVE -- Sara Lee Corp. said Wednesday it has appointed Shalabh Gupta as treasurer, effective immediately. Gupta, 46, joined Sara Lee in October 2004 as director, capital markets and pensions. In September 2005, he was promoted to assistant treasurer, directly responsible for all U.S.-based corporate treasury operations. Prior to Sara Lee, Gupta was at Delphi Corp. and General Motors, where he served various treasury roles.

AAR to provide items to Defense

WOOD DALE -- AAR Corp. announced Wednesday that it has received a $162 million contract for specialized shipping and storage containers, shelters and accessories from the Defense Department's Supply Center Philadelphia. The two-year contract, with three-year options, is for equipment used to support the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps, as well as federal civilian agencies. AAR's Mobility Systems division in Cadillac, Mich., and others will make the products.
