Early prices offered at Preston Pines

Urban-inspired townhouses are introductory priced from the $220,000s at Preston Pines, a new Ryland Homes development in Crystal Lake.

The tri-level rowhouse architecture has been particularly popular with busy professionals and singles, said Robert Meyn, vice president of sales and marketing for Ryland Homes.

"Many of our professional buyers who commute downtown have fallen in love with the row home style they see in neighborhoods such as Lincoln Park but feel that homes there, often priced over a million dollars, are out of their reach," Meyn said. "The townhouses at Preston Pines give them that same styling with new construction amenities but at prices starting from the $220,000s."

Five townhouse designs are available at Preston Pines. The townhouses range from 1,764 to 2,185 square feet in size with two or three bedrooms, 1½ to 2½ baths and attached two-car garages.

The 1,764-square-foot Amherst, priced from $229,990, is designed with an eye for entertaining. The foyer leads up to the main living level of the home and the adjoining living room and dining room open to a spacious island kitchen and breakfast room. The breakfast room opens to the outdoor deck and is also open to the family room.

Upstairs, the master bedroom features a walk-in closet and private bath. A second bedroom and loft are served by a full hall bath.

The lower level of the Amherst includes a finished room measuring nearly 120 square feet that may be used as a storage area, hobby room, den or office.

"Buyers who want to take advantage of pre-construction pricing yet see finished townhouse models are encouraged to visit our Shadow Hill community in Elgin," Meyn said. "Four of the five townhouse plans at Preston Pines are shown as models at Shadow Hill."

A virtual tour of the floor plans also can be found at ryland.com.

Features included in the price of the townhouses are nine-foot first-floor ceilings, wall-to-wall carpeting, no-wax vinyl floors, decks and partial brick exteriors and GE kitchen appliances.

Neighborhood children will attend Prairie Grove Elementary School and Prairie Ridge High School.
