Briefs: Chivari named Quantum COO

BOLINGBROOK -- Quantum Foods LLC, a provider of portion-controlled steaks and multiple proteins, said Tuesday George A. Chivari was named chief operating officer. He becomes responsible for managing Quantum's global product operations. Prior to joining Quantum, he was CEO of Coleman Natural Foods in Golden, Colo.

Bialing Xia elected to Cabot board

AURORA -- Cabot Microelectronics Corp., a supplier to the semiconductor industry, said Tuesday Bailing Xia has been elected to its board of directors. Xia, 52, is the chairman and chief executive officer of Summer Leaf Inc., a privately-held technology and project development consulting company in Toronto. He has served in that role since 1996. He also is the chief representative in North America for China Central Television for education, science, technology, culture and health programs. His term will continue through next year.
