Autism sufferer finds local support
I would like to thank Annette Gallagher and the McHenry County Autism Group for giving me a home away from home. I have Asperger Syndrome, a high-functioning form of autism.
Until August of this year, I had no place to turn to for support. Now I have a place I can go to meet other adults on the spectrum as well as learn how to better deal with my disorder. Once, sometimes twice a month, I can go somewhere other than my therapist's office and be in a place where I can be me and everybody understands why.
I have daily support via www.mcautismgroup.org. I am no longer suffering in silence thanks to the hard work and devotion of this organization.
