Westell sales rise, losses narrow

AURORA -- Westell Technologies Inc., a leading provider of broadband products, gateways and conferencing services, on Thursday announced its second-quarter revenue rose 2.5 percent to $60.4 million, while its net loss decreased 27 percent, to $668,000.

Cabot quarterly sales up 3.9 percent

AURORA -- Cabot Microelectronics Corp., a supplier of polishing slurries to the semiconductor industry, on Thursday said total revenue last quarter was $90 million, up 3.9 percent higher than reported in the same quarter last year. Net income for the quarter was $10.2 million, essentially flat from the same quarter last year. Cabot Chief Executive William Noglows noted the fiscal year ended with the second straight year of record profits in a soft industry market.
