Pumpkin painting, candy at Mt. Prospect fest
Stop by the 2007 Fall Festival in Mount Prospect from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the corner of Prospect Avenue and Wille Street for a pre-Halloween party for the kids.
Last year, about 1,000 people attended, with the majority being families with kids, said Tom Zander, president of the Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association, which is sponsoring the event.
"The purpose is to bring people to the downtown area," Zander said.
Kids are the focus of the festival, so the activities are largely geared to them, he said.
Pumpkin painting and tractor rides will be some of the highlights, Zander said.
A table full of candy will be another hot spot, he said.
The Prospect High School Drumline will perform, as well as a band called Macaroni Soup.
The event is free to the public. For more information, visit www.mpdma.org.
