The Illinois Landscape Contractors Association elected Arlington Heights resident Matt Synnestvedt of Synnestvedt & Associates, Northbrook, president of its board of directors. Joining the board are: Steve Brodt, Western DuPage Landscaping, Naperville; Tim Caldwell, The Savanna Group Inc., North Aurora; and Charlie Keppel, The Care of Trees, Wheeling. Re-elected as a director was Ed Gomez, Paradise Landscape Design Ltd., Hampshire. Continuing directors include: Robert Bertog, Bertog Landscape, Wheeling; Steve Fiore, Rocco Fiore & Sons Inc., Libertyville; Brenda McMahon, St. Charles; and Dave Story, Bartlett Tree Experts Inc., Northbrook. Daniel G. Parsons of Gilberts was elected to the board of directors of the Northeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging. An attorney who specializes in elder law, Parsons is active in the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Kane Country Senior Resources and the Elgin Senior Provider Network. Additionally, Deborah Awis of Aurora was appointed to the advisory council of the Northeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging. Awis is a self-employed agent for life and health insurance and is affiliated with Provena Mercy Medical Center.

The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors elected Ellen S. Turf, Arlington Heights, chief executive officer, and Mark Berg, Wheaton, Midwest chairman of its national board for 2007-08.

John L. Wozniak, a former division president of Summit Homes and Lennar, and James L. Chittaro, a former executive in the real estate lending divisions of Bank of American and the Royal Bank of Canada, have formed a new Naperville-base homebuilding venture, J. Lawrence Homes. Wozniak serves as president, while Chittaro holds the title of chief financial officer.

With 35 years experience in the real estate industry, Richard Lewis was appointed vice president and managing broker of Inland Real Estates Sale's flagship office at the national headquarters of the Inland Real Estate Group of Cos. Inc. in Oak Brook. Lewis joined Inland group in 2001.

Brian Plain of Wolf Financial Management LLC, Oak Brook, earned the certified college planning specialist certification from the National Institute of Certified College Planners.

Ross Thomson was promoted to vice president of commercial banking at Leaders Bank, Oak Brook, responsible for managing commercial relationships with privately-held businesses, entrepreneurs and high net-worth individuals.

Telesource International Inc., Lombard, an integrated global engineering and infrastructure development firm, appointed retired Major General Trudy H. Clark and Carl Wayne Smith to its board of directors.
