Operation Snowflake: Daniel Wright Junior High School recently hosted Operation Snowflake for seventh grade students. Operation Snowflake strives to teach decision making skills and ways to manage peer pressure through discussion and interaction among students. Students also learn about the effects of alcohol and drug use on individuals, families and the community.

The program, led by teaching staff and peer leaders from both Daniel Wright Junior High School and Stevenson High School, is designed to help young people make responsible decisions.

The evening culminated with a dance for participating students. Operation Snowflake also included a parent program, led by Marilee Muirhead, substance abuse prevention coordinator at Stevenson High School.

Daniel Wright staff members Mary Friesl, Christina Louchios and Kristine Rickert are leading Operation Snowflake this year.
