Briefs: McDonald's Lamar to retire by March

OAK BROOK -- After more than two decades with McDonald's, William Lamar Jr. said Thursday he plans to retire by March. Lamar has served as chief marketing officer for McDonald's USA since August 2002. In addition to national marketing, Lamar has been responsible for new product development and business research. Neil Golden will be promoted to senior vice president and chief marketing officer April 1. Golden is an 18-year McDonald's veteran with local and national experience. Golden's McDonald's career began in 1989.

Tegrant acquires Dot Packaging

DEKALB -- Tegrant Alloyd Brands Inc., a subsidiary of Tegrant Corp. and supplier of custom packaging, said Thursday it completed the acquisition of Batavia-based Dot Packaging Group Inc., a supplier of blister cards, clamshell inserts and folding cartons for major consumer goods. In addition to its Batavia facility, Dot is also in Spartanburg, S.C.
