Briefs: Arthur J. Gallagher acquires Koster

ITASCA -- Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced the acquisition of Koster Insurance Agency Inc. of Quincy, Mass. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Founded in 1994, Koster is an insurance and risk management agency that develops and administers student health, sports accident and special risk insurance programs for colleges, universities and secondary schools.

UL plans to build testing facility

NORTHBROOK -- Underwriters Laboratories, a product safety testing and certification firm, announced it will build a state-of-the-art photovoltaic testing and certification facility in the Silicon Valley. The multi-million dollar investment to build a 16,000-square-foot facility is intended to increase testing capacity for the renewable energy industry and get UL-Listed photovoltaic products to market faster.

Mexican restaurant begins serving

VERNON HILLS -- Pepe's Mexican Restaurants opened its newest area location in Vernon Hills at 281 W. Town Line Road.
